Ann Arbor Breweries for National IPA Day - Remerica Hometown REALTORS

The city of Ann Arbor has always been known for its diverse dining and entertainment options. Now, it's making its mark in the craft beer scene as well. It seems like every time you look, there's a great new brewery or bar opening up.

If you happen to be in the area looking at Ann Arbor homes for sale in early August, we suggest celebrating National IPA Day by visiting one (or more!) of these popular establishments.

  1. The Grotto: 303 S. Ashley St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104
Known for its great vibe and even better beer selection, The Grotto is a popular spot among locals. With 36 rotating beers on tap, you're sure to find an IPA you'll love. Once you get your beer, find a table indoors or head out to the inviting patio to enjoy some relaxing music. Although this bar doesn't serve food, they do encourage guests to bring their own. There are some great nearby restaurants that are happy to accommodate with take-out orders, and some will even deliver them to the bar!

Ann Arbor Michigan Theater-Remerica Hometown REALTORS

Are you ready for a night of entertainment? Head on down to the Michigan Theater and enjoy one of their many amazing events throughout the month of March. Film screenings, comedy specials, public speaker showcases, and more are featured in this historic Ann Arbor venue. Our REALTORS® have attended many shows at this performing arts center and encourage you to view their calendar of events to discover the amazing public speakers, concerts and plays that have made this theater a cherished piece of Ann Arbor nightlife.

History of the Michigan Theater

Established in 1928, the Michigan Theater has entertained the families of Ann Arbor for nearly a century. As a shrine for the performing arts, it's future was uncertain in 1979 when The Butterfield Theatre Corporation moved out of the theater. Thankfully, the Michigan Theater Foundation was quickly formed as a non-profit organization, and they saved the structure from demolishment.

Since then, the foundation has enabled the Michigan Theater to continue showcasing the arts in all its forms. From live comedy and music to engaging stage productions and more, the Michigan Theater has become a treasured gem of Ann Arbor history and culture.

This speakeasy is named for a 1921 cocktail, and the entire atmosphere of The Last Word capitalizes on the Prohibition-era setting. Find whiskey, wine, and beer, plus light cocktails; stronger-flavored, bitter, and herbal drinks; and nightcaps and sweet-finishing cocktails.

Open Monday 5 p.m. to midnight; Tuesdays through Saturday 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. Expect dim lighting and a sophisticated atmosphere.
