Michigan Snow Storm Prep Tips

Michigan winters are known to bring freezing temperatures, icy stairs, and snowy eaves. As a first time home buyer, our REALTORS® want you to enjoy your first winter in your new home. The best way to stay snug and secure is to follow these eight tips and prepare your home for Mother Nature's whims before she blows into town.

  1. Inspect Your Furnace
Make sure your air vents are clean and free of ice and other debris. You will want to change the filters and take care of any required maintenance before snowstorms make their way into the weather forecasts.

Ann Arbor Home Buying Holidays
When it comes to Ann Arbor homes for sale, house hunters find ours is a vibrant city filled with art, culture, sports, and entertainment. During the holidays, something magical happens. Holiday lights twinkle and shimmer wherever you go, and you can feel the exciting celebratory spirit in the air.

We know your holiday season is busy, but our REALTORS® want you to know that it's still a great time to look for your perfect home. We offer five smart reasons to buy a house in Ann Arbor during the holidays.

  1. Home Sellers Are Waiting For You
You may have noticed that the real estate market slows down during the holidays, but not for everyone. While some sellers take their homes off the market until spring, others double their efforts. Those are the sellers serious who have reasons for selling right away. Perhaps they have a pending job relocation, or they've already bought a new home. Whatever their motivation, they'll listen to your offer and try to work out a deal because they need or want to sell now. They're just waiting for you to show up.

Community Events Ann Arbor Area
Every family celebrates the holidays in their own unique way. The traditions you create are repeated year after year and passed down through generations. This year, why not start a new tradition by gathering up the family and heading over to a local Turkey Trot Race?

This annual Thanksgiving Day event has been held in cities across the United States for over a century, with the very first one having been held in the city of Buffalo, NY in 1896! While the first race had only six participants, it's been held every year since, and now attracts thousands of runners annually. Our REALTORS® love attending local Turkey Trot races and think you will too. Here are some of the most popular races nearby.

  1. Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Ann Arbor: E. Liberty and Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor, MI
If you're considering one of the gorgeous Ann Arbor homes for sale, you'll love getting to know your potential new neighbors at the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Ann Arbor. There's no need to be super-competitive during this race. Participants are encouraged to run, walk, or crawl through the 1k or 5k courses. Strollers are welcome, and participants will receive a commemorative shirt and metal. After the event, enjoy the hot chocolate, photos with Santa and Turkey Tom, and a fun after-party. A portion of all entry fees will support the ChadTough Foundation.
